In Carinthia, the funding for sports clubs is expanded! Over 1,340 sports clubs benefit from the intensive work of the umbrella organizations ASKÖ, ASVÖ and Sportunion. In the upcoming government meeting, the decision for the umbrella organization promotion is on the agenda in 2025. Governor Peter Kaiser and his deputy Gaby Schaunig will bring in the corresponding application. Kaiser emphasizes: "Gold, silver, bronze, national and international titles - the basis for this is laid in our dedicated sports clubs" and emphasizes that many young people get in motion through the offers. The funding of a total of 280,000 euros will primarily benefit the support in young, width and competitive sports, whereby a maximum of 25,000 euros may be used for administrative effort.
Another important step towards promoting movement is the program "Moving Children Healthy 2.0". This nationwide project is aimed at children in kindergarten, elementary school and in sports clubs. The member associations can offer special exercise activities in cooperation with schools and kindergartens and receive financial support for this. The required minimum benefits include, for example, at least 15 movement -promoting units in the context of regular teaching. The umbrella organizations ASSKÖ, ASVÖ and Sportunion combine their strength to offer over 50 sports and thus enable broad access to sport. This cooperation aims to not only promote sporting success, but also to give health impulses for the entire population. The initiatives aim to increase the awareness of the sports club offers and to attract new members. The funds of the “Moving Children's Moving Healthy” program directly benefit from the clubs, which can get the costs for the trainer and necessary materials, which enables a sustainable development of the sports offers in accordance with the educational institutions.
