The SK Rapid has to announce great: The contract with the talented goalkeeper Paul Gartler was extended by two years until summer 2027! The association announced this on Monday. Gartler, a 28-year-old Styrian who has been playing for Rapid for over twelve years, has already replaced the injured stammer goalkeeper Niklas Hedl in two games this season. Paul Gartler is a real veteran of the SK Rapid. He began his football career at SC Gleisdorf in 1919 before he came to Hütteldorf via the SK Sturm Graz, where he debuted for Rapid II in 2014. In 2016 he finally found his way into the professional squad. In between, he collected valuable game practice during his rental to the Kapfenberger SV. After returning to the 2018/2019 season, it was finally time in 2020: his debut in the Bundesliga followed, and since then he has been an integral part of the first team. Gartler himself expressed: "I know what it means to be allowed to wear this jersey, and therefore it is very important to me to be able to pass on the values of the association and the right attitude to younger players." His talent was not only visible in the club team; He also left traces in the Austrian youth team, played in the U-19 and also in the U-21 and showed his skills on an international parquet.
