ORF Center celebrates Raffaela Schaidreiter as Journalist of the Year 2024

Raffaela Schaidreiter, ORF correspondent, was named “Journalist of the Year” 2024. This honor took place as part of a festive award ceremony in the ORF center, after which it was announced in December 2024. Schaidreiter received recognition for her “humility, combined with journalistic courage” and is appreciated by laudator Tobias Pötzelsberger for her hard work and analytical skills. He emphasized that she explains complex topics in an understandable way and thus creates significant added value for the audience. In her own words, Schaidreiter emphasized the importance of the added value that journalism should provide to the public.

Overall, the evening was accompanied by many other awards, including the honoring of Michael Kuhn, one of the best-known sports journalists, for his life's work. Annemarie Moser-Pröll praised Kuhn’s “dignity and attitude” as well as his humanity. Kuhn said that it is a challenge for journalists to get real information these days.
