New club in Brunsbüttel starts offensive against cancer and heart diseases!

In Brunsbüttel, a new club with the name "Network Patient Competence" was founded, which is devoted to health care. Martin Blümke, medical managing director of the West Coast Clinics, works on the board of the association. The focus is on cancer prevention, whereby the club work is also to be expanded to cardiovascular diseases, obesity and neurological diseases.

The association was founded against the background that the Wattolümpiade, a benefit event on cancer provision, took place for the last time in 2024. With the Network Patient Competence, the important work of the provision in the region is to be continued and expanded, such as German Society for Heart Research . The threshold for avoiding illness is significantly reduced by a healthy lifestyle. Avoiding risk factors such as increased blood pressure and high cholesterol levels play a crucial role.

The association plans various actions to promote awareness of healthy eating and regular physical activity. These aspects are fundamental to prevention of both cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
