New waste water tank in Albessen: odor emissions finally stopped!
In the small community of Albessen near Kusel, a persistent odor problem related to wastewater disposal was successfully resolved. The installation of a pumping station that directs wastewater to Konken had caused major complaints from residents in the past. In Hohlstrasse in particular, there were real “smell attacks” that significantly impaired the quality of life of the citizens Rhine Palatinate reported.
To improve the situation, the pumping frequency was increased and a storage tank for odor absorbent was installed. However, this tank, which only holds 1000 liters, has to be refilled weekly. The local mayor Joachim Deckbar has now announced that a larger tank is planned in order to minimize the effort required for refilling. The local council has already approved the proposal. This could come as a relief to residents who have suffered from the smells. The expenses for the new tank installation will be borne by the municipality.
