Natural paradise in the Ötztal: New habitat for rare species in Längenfeld!

Längenfeld, Österreich - The newly designed outdoor area of ​​the Haus Nature Park in Längenfeld is a real paradise for flora and fauna. In a comprehensive project, lively habitats were created from monotonous green areas, which now offer insects, lizards and numerous plant species. This major project cost a total of around 50,000 euros, with the state of Tyrol promoting over 15,000 euros. EU funds were also used for this, as ÖAKOWS reported.

The redesign comprises more than 130 plant species, 400 perennials and around 30 trees. Particular attention was paid to the improvement of the pond system, which is now fed by fresh water from the Klammlasbach. These measures not only promote water quality, but also the entire ecosystem of the nature park, which is now a retreat for butterflies, beetles and wild bees. While the work of the project is praised in the nature park administration, Naturpark Ötztal that the outdoor area should also serve as a learning location for visitors. The unique flora and fauna can be experienced here.

The Haus Nature Park also acts as a competence center and information hob for the rich nature of the Ötztal. The central attraction is the almost 300 m² natural history exhibition, which presents the variety of Ötztal nature in an impressive way. The exhibition includes explanations on typical plants, animals, rock formations and the region's water resources. Multimedia elements such as audiostatations and touchscreens make the information even more accessible and tangible for visitors.
