Nature as art: the unique exhibitions in the Museumsquartier Vienna!
In the Museumsquartier Vienna, two remarkable exhibitions will take place from March 19, 2025. Under the title "All This - Herman de Vries", the creative work of the Dutch artist Herman de Vries, born in 1931 in Alkmaar. His art is an urgent examination of nature, which he views not only as a resource, but as a living player. Bettina Leidl, director of the MQ, describes his work as an invitation to make the hidden visible and to recognize the extraordinary in the ordinary. The opening ceremony will take place on March 18 at 7 p.m., and this is the first institutional solo exhibition of the artist in Austria, such as ots.at . In this exhibition, installations that are based on the beginning of its biological research and which are inspired by the perfection of nature are also presented.
can also be seen the works of the Syrian artist Huda Takriti, who, with her interdisciplinary work, address topics such as memory, identity and migration. Your video work within the exhibition "Anatomy of An Endless Scene" examines how historiography and power structures are connected, for example using the example of the Algerian Revolution. Takriti, born in Damascus in 1990, intervenes with her art into the complex interdependencies of personal and collective history, which makes your work particularly relevant for current social issues. Together, both exhibitions offer a versatile perspective on contemporary art and its commitment with the world, such as the Museumsquartier Vienna explains.
