Marko Heckerodt: Mayor candidate with fresh wind for Ringgau!

Marko Heckerodt, 55 years old and currently a treasurer in Herleshausen, has announced his candidacy for the mayor's office of the municipality of Ringgau. The election will take place on February 23, 2025, at the same time as the elections to the Bundestag. Heckerodt is a member of the SPD and leads the parliamentary group in the Weißenborn municipal council.

In order to maintain neutrality for the mayor's office, Heckerodt plans to let his membership rest at the SPD. In the coming weeks, he will organize information events in all seven districts of the Ringgau to introduce himself to the citizens. Heckerodt has personal roots in the region because his mother comes from Datterode.

Criticism of existing structures and goals for the future

Heckerodt has clear ideas for the community and criticizes the slow processing of the annual financial statements, which has lasted for five years. His goal is to establish approval -capable households in the Ringgau from 2027. He would like to generate income without increasing the tax burden for the citizens and speaks against high tax rates in basic and trade tax.

In questions of wind power, Heckerodt shows a critical attitude, but sees opportunities for financial participation. He also calls for the use of building gaps in the districts to attract new residents. He criticizes the current models for commercial areas as not very efficient because they withdraw companies time and calculability. Heckerodt sees potential for reducing costs in the management of public properties and in administration and brings experience from his work with special purposes, especially in the financial sector.

For the mayoral election, Heckerodt competes next to the independent incumbent Mario Hartmann. Hartmann was elected in 2019 and received 62% of the votes. The election committee of the municipality will confirm the candidates on Thursday. Heckerodt was able to collect more than 50 supporter signatures and has support for local associations of the CDU and SPD in Ringgau, while the largest parties regarding their support of the incumbent and Heckerodt have not yet commented on, such as hna.de reported.
