The last January 29th the documentary ** “Riefenstahl” **, which was realized by Andres Veiel, will be presented. This German documentation examines the complex relationship between Leni Riefenstahl on the Nazi propaganda and the Hitler regime. This topic is deepened by new archive material and Riefenstahl's estate. The film celebrated its premiere on August 29, 2024 at the Venice Film Festival and had its theatrical release in Germany on October 31, 2024. Reviews describe the film as significant for biographical filmmaking and see it as an important educational work on the power of the pictures.

The heirs of Riefenstahl handed over the heir to the Prussian Cultural Ownership Foundation in 2016. This collection comprises 7,000 boxes with materials used for the documentation. Sandra Maischberger, who interviewed Riefenstahl in 2002, expressed the feeling that she felt that Riefenstahl had lied and wanted to learn more about her life. The interview was led by Hans-Jürgen Panitz, who won an Emmy for his work.

With these four films, the Koki in Verden offers a varied program that combines both tragic and comedic elements and especially focuses on the impressive history of Leni Riefenstahl.
