Dieter Thomas Kuhn, born on January 7, 1965 in Tübingen, grew up with five older siblings as the son of a detective. The mother took care of the household, and the family did not live in poverty, but not in abundance either. During his school days, he worked in a retirement home and as a masseur at the Tübingen Clinic, which later enabled him to train as a masseur and medical lifeguard. He became known for his hairstyle, which earned him the nickname “the singing hair dryer”. In his private life he wears his hair down and loose, but it takes about 90 minutes to achieve his stage style.
Kuhn, who is not married, has a girlfriend and a daughter named Fanny, who was born in 2005. His musical career began in 1994 with the “Kapelle”, which covered 70s hits. The initial performances took place in small clubs until he finally gave large open-air concerts with up to 15,000 spectators. With his successes he won, among other things, the German Record Prize in 1997 and the Echo in 1998.
