Erwin Wurm: Surreal sculptures fascinate Linz and Ischl!

In the Linz Francisco Carolinum, an extraordinary exhibition by Erwin Wurm is currently causing a sensation. The presentation is entitled "Photographic Sculptures" and forms the prelude to an impressive exhibition trilogy that takes place throughout Upper Austria. Wurm, a globally recognized artist, presents his works, including bizarre photographs that transform everyday objects into bizarre moments, such as a flying mixer or a man who puts his head into a wall. These works not only present its typical "one minute sculptures", in which people are taking and photographed crazy positions, but also show a look back at his early work with surreal black and white photographs that reflect humorously and critically.

The exhibition is not only a look back at worms diverse artistic approaches, but also an indication of the future of its work. In the coming months, Wurm will also present ceramics in Gmunden and on May 17th in Bad Ischl a large work show, in which a "Fat Car" - one of its best -known creations - will be shown. These works address overconsum and social conditions under the influence of humor and irony, which makes Wurm's art so unique. In an interview with "Krone", Wurm explains that art is always a mirror of his time for him, although he questions the exaggerations and absurdities of modern society. The exhibition runs until September 7 and in this way offers a fascinating insight into the bizarre but educational universe of the artist.

In addition to its local exhibitions, Wurm also becomes internationally active, with appearances in important art centers such as the Towada Art Center in Japan and Albertina Modern in Vienna, where a retrospective is planned for its 70th birthday. This shows that Wurm's influence beyond Austria and he is valued as a visionary artist worldwide. The combination of his unique photographs and sculptures in this trilogy in Upper Austria offers visitors the opportunity to explore the limits of contemporary art and to think about the topics, the worm in his work, while they are enthusiastic about the creativity of the artist.
