First steps to fight fire: Training in Dietmanns inspires 36 participants

Dietmanns, Österreich - On April 10, 2025, 36 members took part in Dietmann's first module on the seminar for "Wald- and Flur fire fighting- basics". This module was organized by the district fire brigade command Waidhofen an der Thaya and should convey valuable knowledge of combating forest fires to the participants. The theoretical part dealt with central topics such as the origin and the spreading behavior of forest fires, the associated risks and the possibilities of the special service "Waldbrand fighting" of the Lower Austrian State Fire Brigade Association. The commander of the Dietmann fire department, Josef Kugler, directed the event and ensured that the content was conveyed in a practical way.

The practical part took place in a nearby forest area, where the participants practiced various techniques and methods at three stations. This included the use of hand tools and the performance of extinguishing pipes. This practice -oriented approach is an important element of training because it enables theoretical knowledge to be used in realistic scenarios.
