On International Women's Day, March 8, 2025, the award "Ms. of the Year" is awarded by the Greens Leopoldstadt, and the winners are none other than the Austrian warehouse community Ravensbrück and the volunteer women of Train of Hope. This honor recognizes her passionate commitment to memory of the victims of the women's concentration camp Ravensbrück and their outstanding contributions to civil society support for refugees in Vienna. The Ravensbrück camp community is recognized for its decades of fighting against forgetting, in which it keeps the stories of resistance fighter alive and does educational work. Judith Pühringer, the top candidate of the Green Vienna, emphasizes: "The history of the Ravensbrückers shows us how important it is not to mention. Antifascist resistance remains a central task." Your work deserves the greatest recognition." The event is under the motto of solidarity and resistance, which is of great relevance in the current political situation.
