Volunteering in Spremberg: 120 heroes of everyday life honored!

On the occasion of the international day of the volunteer on December 5, the city of Spremberg honored more than 120 committed citizens who open their heart to the community and various aid projects. A festive event took place in the cozy restaurant "Zur Schilfhütte", organized by the city administration together with the volunteer agency Spremberg . The administrative representatives paid tribute to the free work of the volunteers, who have often been involved in diverse areas such as German lessons, homework help, hospice work or the organization of literary events for decades.

an evening full of recognition

"Your commitment is priceless and cannot be recognized enough," emphasized Frank Kulik, the deputy mayor of Spremberg. Moderated by Sabine Rackel from the Spremberg volunteer agency, the evening had some surprises ready, including personal gifts that combined regional ingredients. Every year the city invites around 120 people who are proposed by social associations and institutions for their special services to the common good. This tradition shows how many people come together in Spremberg to help others.

The event not only underlines the importance of volunteering, but also the valuable community work that many individuals do. According to the organizers, there are a variety of volunteers in Spremberg who stand up for social interaction, even if the annual celebration can only honor a small selection of these people, such as Niederlausitz currently reported .
