The master of nature: Jochen Fiedler and his impressive landscapes
Jochen Fiedler, a scenic painter from Cunnersdorf in Saxon Switzerland, is known for his work, which he mostly made directly in nature. It emphasizes the intensity of seeing and perception. "Art is personality," quotes Fiedler Max Liebermann and describes the painting process as a "accompanying melody to life". His studio in Cunnersdorf is open to visitors interested in art and he paints as a plenary painter all year round.
Fiedler has created about 500 pictures of the area since moving to Cunnersdorf in 1998, when the apartment in Dresden became too tight. The artist, born in Dresden in 1962, studied at the art college from 1983 to 1988, where he completed the master school year with Prof. Gerhard Kettner. In his art, he addresses both village scenes and natural landscapes.
Fiedler's stylistic approach and artistic influences
Jochen Fiedler not only lives and works in Cunnersdorf, but also has a city studio in Dresden, which means that he can quickly dive into the art business there. Growing up and trained in Dresden, he ended his studies at the University of Fine Arts in 1989. His artistic activity includes landscapes, still lifes, portraits and acts, whereby he prefers the low mountain forlers to Erzgebirge and Lausitzer Bergland as well as the Elbe valley and Saxon Switzerland.
Since 1992, Fiedler has been doing annual painting trips to Provence, Umbria and the Palatinate. In his work, drawings, watercolors, pastels and oil paintings are used, which are often completed in the studio. His pictures are shaped by bright, bright color spectrum and impressionist dueus, which convey the joy of existence and an unbiased simplicity. The compositions are cheerful and do without symbols or figure staff. Instead, he addresses the transience and cyclical processes in nature.
Fiedler adheres to the experienced and is particularly interested in silhouettes, light, space and atmospheres. The painting process is conscious for him and represents a transformation of the reality impressions. It avoids stylistic exceedations and always stays close to the motif, which means that he has developed a recognized position as a landscape painter in the Dresden art scene. His work is an expression of a celebration of existence and combined with a sensual tradition of painting and drawing culture.
