Brigitte Bierlein Women's Prize: Young talents wanted for leadership roles!
A new award for talented women in leadership positions is being launched! The Brigitte Bierlein Women's Prize is aimed at women under the age of 35 who have achieved success in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, technology and applied research. According to former minister Maria Rauch-Kallat, who is taking over the patronage, not only top executives but also women in the third and fourth management levels should be honored. Economics Minister Martin Kocher emphasized that the criteria are intentionally broad in order to enable as many applications as possible. This reports Small newspaper.
Prizes and awards ceremony
The prize is not only endowed with cash - the first place receives 5,000 euros, the second 3,000 euros and the third 2,000 euros - but also with the opportunity to have direct discussions with the Minister of Economic Affairs and Maria Rauch-Kallat. The award ceremony is planned for mid-September and is intended to give young women not only recognition but also self-confidence. Kocher is sure that the prize will help break the “glass ceilings” that women often face in leadership positions. Rauch-Kallat urged the award winners to seize opportunities wherever they see them to advance their careers, as she has already shown in her commitment to the integration of disabled children.
Rauch-Kallat, who comes from Vienna, has had an impressive political career. From 1992 to 2007 she held various ministerial positions and also worked as a management consultant. The award's namesake, Brigitte Bierlein, is seen as an "incredible role model" for many women, as she was not only Chancellor but also held various highest offices. With its new award, the initiative to promote women is sending a strong signal to the Austrian economy.
