Benjamin Östvold: From the hotel job to the ski star of the four-hill tour!

Oberstdorf, Deutschland - Benjamin Östvold, a 23-year-old ski jumper from Norway, caused a sensation at this year's four-hill tour. The young athlete, who last tried to finance his sports career by night shifts in a hotel near Oslo and collected funds through crowdfunding, proved that hard work is rewarded. So he managed to land in Oberstdorf as the 13th and left known greats like Karl Geiger and Ryōyū Kobayashi, as the Krone

The four-hill tour, an important ski jumping event, took place in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen. Östvold, who had already shown impressive achievements in the Continental Cup, fought a strong 6th place in Bischofshofen from 18th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and 19th place in Innsbruck and crowned his tour with a total point, which earned him over 15,000 euros in prize money. "This is great. This means that I can look at the rest of the season with more confidence," he said happily.
In his hotel job, however, he remains active, because the money from the prize money is not enough for him to completely do without his secondary activity.
