New health concept: primary care centers conquer Upper Austria

In Austria, there is a comprehensive reform of basic medical care: from 2025, a total of eight new primary care centers in different cities will open, including Bad Ischl, Wels and Perg. These centers will be equipped with 28 cash register for general medicine and special bodies for pediatrics. According to Michael Pecherstorfer from the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK), the new facilities should offer more flexible and longer opening hours in order to significantly improve patient care. Overall, ÖGK and the state of Upper Austria invest 18 million euros in the creation of these pension centers, which is evaluated by the governor of Christine Haberlander as a decisive step to improve medical care outside of hospitals.

a common concept for health care

as from Taylor Wessing , the concept of the primary care centers is aimed at ensuring a coordinated general care that is special about the needs and multimoror patient is tailored. In the centers, not only doctors, but also specialists from other areas, such as nurses and therapists, should work together to ensure holistic care. This means that patients not only receive medical treatment, but also receive support in organizing their care and therapy. This interdisciplinary cooperation is intended to ensure high -quality care and facilitate permanent medical care.

As part of the new health care laws, which should also apply from 2025, comprehensive networking between primary care centers and health services is required, including cooperations with local health kiosks. In particular, these initiatives aim to improve medical care in rural and structurally weak regions. The stationing of non -medical staff in the centers will also serve to relieve the doctors, so that they can concentrate on their core tasks. The promising working conditions should help to motivate more young doctors to work in under -sufficient areas.
