World-class SUP event: The Lake Rocks conquers Lake Faaker See!
This year, Lake Faaker See will once again be the center of international stand-up paddling at THE LAKE ROCKS festival, which is taking place for the fourth time. Loud Click Carinthia The event brings together over 1,000 athletes from 25 nations and presents competitions at a world-class level, including the Austrian State Championships.
This festival is considered the third largest SUP event in the world and offers a variety of sports through competitions such as the City Race in Villach and XXL team races directly on the lake. Participation for those under 16 is free, which makes the event particularly child-friendly.
Diverse program and SUP Village
The festival is supported by the health initiative “Promote Health, Move Carinthia” and includes free SUP workouts at various Carinthian lakes. In addition, yoga is offered on the board to offer participants a holistic experience. In the SUP Village at Strandcamping Gruber there will be test stations for new products, live music and after-race parties. Visitors can also try out products from leading brands such as Light, Fanatic and Starboard Paddle City reported.
The SUP Village covers an area of 6000 m² directly on Lake Faaker See and is open from Thursday to Sunday daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Culinary delicacies and a varied program with DJs and live music are offered during the parties. In the evenings, guests can expect highlights such as “The Bandits”, “Why Cry Johnny” and “Rocketansky”.
Prestigious competitions and spectator events
The event also includes several outstanding competitions. The Antenne Kärnten SPEED Race and the Kärntner Sparkasse TEAM Race will take place before the Kelag PRO Race and the FUN Race round off the event on Saturday. The entire event will even be streamed live on YouTube by the scene portal TOTALSUP.COM.
Visitors and participants can also look forward to the FreizeitBASE in Villach, which is to be transformed into an urban “fan arena” for THE LAKE ROCKS 2024, as the outdoor portal SUP Spirit Soul describes. The City Race will also take place here along the Drau River, where spectators can watch the action on the Drau terraces and in guest gardens.
