Scrap crates on an adventure tour: Westfelder at the Carbage Run 2025!

From January 12th to 17th, 2025, the Carbage Run 2025 will take place, an extraordinary motorsport event that takes participants over a distance of more than 3,000 kilometers through Scandinavia. The starting point is Helsingborg in Sweden, the finish is in Rovaniemi, the Arctic Circle, before returning to Helsinki. The event is now a transnational event that was launched in the Netherlands in 2009.

The conditions for participation are usually quite unconventional: the car must not cost more than 1,000 euros and should be at least 20 years old. This year, several teams from Westfeld are also represented, including last year's defending champions. You drive a 1997 Mazda MPV that already has 300,000 kilometers on it. Participants must prepare for difficult weather conditions, including ice and snow in temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees.

Tasks and challenges

During the event, teams not only have to cover the long distance, but also complete numerous challenges and tasks that further spice up the adventure. Participants can support each other in the event of breakdowns and use a WhatsApp group to exchange spare parts. The event comprises a total of six stages.

The participants of the Westfeld team are: Dennis Rickert, Felix König, Philipp König, Lukas Döpp as well as Lukas Linke, Marvin Falke, Paul Göddecke, Fabian Wüllner and Leonhard and Hannes Voss, Basti Göddecke and Sascha Schütte. The Carbage Run, which derives its name from a combination of “car” and “garbage,” focuses on fun and adventure rather than speed. Teams are challenged with crazy tasks that can put them in bizarre situations as they visit unknown places and meet unforgettable people.
