Milow: With AI to the music revolution – a new chapter begins!
Belgian singer Milow surprises the music world with an emotional duet realized posthumously with his late father. The artist, born Jonathan Ivo Gilles Vandenbroeck, used artificial intelligence (AI) for this heartwarming collaboration. “I only had these recordings available and could only realize the duet with the help of AI,” explained Milow. He sees technology not as a threat, but as an opportunity to expand the creative palette. “The use of artificial intelligence is not the end of everything,” he predicted kleinezeitung.at reported. “In the history of music there have always been new technologies, and despite initial concerns, instruments like drum loops found their place.” However, he highlights the upcoming discussions about copyrights related to AI-generated content.
An album full of self-reflection
Milow's upcoming album, which contains handmade singer-songwriter pieces in a pop guise, reflects his doubts and artistic freedom. “I had all the freedom, but also the overwhelming possibilities,” he admitted. “I didn’t want to fall short of the high standard of my previous albums.” Even though he used AI for the duet, Milow used a traditional way of working for the other songs: “I was in the studio with the band for three weeks.” This old-school method differs from modern practice, which often relies on digital productions.
His new songs, including the optimistic title “Get Up And Go”, invite you to persevere. “It's about how I found my mojo and my confidence again,” explains Milow. He sees music as empowering and able to provide support in difficult times. “Everyone has their challenges, and music can be an answer to them,” said the artist. At the same time, he adds that many in today's music world follow the algorithm of streaming services, while he trusts that the young generation can distinguish between real feeling and artificial creation genius.com reported.
