SCR Altach fights despite setback: hope to stay in the league!
After a painful 5-0 defeat against Rapid Vienna, SCR Altach is deep in crisis. This defeat, which was already the seventh in a row without a goal against the Viennese, shows an alarming weakness in a direct comparison. Despite the disastrous numbers, coach Fabio Ingolitsch says there were also bright spots: “We had many phases in which we held up well, even if there was a lack of consistency,” he reported. His players tried to use the first 45 minutes to get into the game, but the demands, especially in set pieces, fell far short of expectations, as he himself admitted.
A questionable red card for Cvetkovic gave the Altach team new hope, but the chance to reduce the deficit was ruined by a yellow-red card for Paul Koller. "That's just not smart. That's why we just didn't deserve anything today," said Ingolitsch, visibly upset after the game. The ups and downs of the game showed that the Altachers are morally stable, but at the same time nervous when it comes to the points that are so important for staying in the league. Serious errors from set pieces that resulted not from play but from dead balls made it impossible for the team to score points.
