Dingolfing fights bravely, but Upper Bavaria prevails!

At the weekend, EV Dingolfing showed mixed feelings on the ice. While the team put up a great performance in their home win against Schongau on Friday evening, they suffered a heavy defeat against Ulm on Sunday. In an exciting match, Dingolfing defeated Schongauer 6:4, which gave the fans hope for a lasting success story. But the tide turned on Sunday. When the Isar Rats took to the ice in the away game against Ulm, the implementation of coach Dustin Whitecotton's instructions failed. The EVD quickly fell 0:4 behind and despite a subsequent rapid attack, the game ended with a catastrophic 2:12.

A game full of contrasts

In the previous game against HC Landsberg, the Dingolfingers showed impressive strength. After a dominant first half the score was 5-1 and the spectators believed in a clear victory. But the pressure from Landsberger made Dingolfing tremble, so the game remained exciting until the last second. Christoph Schedlbauer, Dingolfinger's goalkeeper, made brilliant saves and secured a 5-4 win isarrats.de reported.

Saturday, however, was marked by disappointment. After the disastrous start against Ulm, which put them in a 0-4 hole, the Isar Rats' fighting spirit wasn't enough to turn things around. Whitecotton had to change their goalkeeper in the first period and despite a short comeback the battle was already lost. The guests' performance in this game called into question the potential of Dingolfinger, who now have to show against Pfaffenhofen and Buchloe that they want to fight for tenth place.
