In the semi-finals of the SPORTLAND Lower Austria Cup, which took place on March 30, 2025 in the NV Arena, the spusu SKN St. Pölten Rush won 4-2 against First Vienna FC 1894. St. Pölten took the lead 1-0 with a goal from Melanie Brunnthaler in the 28th minute. However, after half-time, Vienna turned the game around with two quick goals from Magdalena Rukavina and Annalena Wucher in just six minutes, giving them a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute.
But St. Pölten fought back. Sarah Mattner equalized in the 80th minute, and in the exciting stoppage time Carina Brunold secured the decisive victory with two goals (90th + 2nd and 90th + 4th minute). This ensured the team made it to the final, which took place on May 24th in Wr. Neustadt will take place. There they meet Vienna Austria, who beat Salzburg 2-0 in the other semi-final.
