Norris explained that he has been planning to give Piastri the win since Brazil, as he had previously helped him. “I’m not here to win sprint races,” Norris added Sky Sports reported. With this double victory, McLaren strengthened its lead in the constructors' championship and is now 30 points ahead of Ferrari.

With this team strategy, Norris and Piastri won the 19-lap sprint, with Norris helping Piastri by repeatedly playing DRS (Drag Reduction System).
