Unknown man harasses elementary school children in Vienna - police alerted!
A disturbing incident occurred in Vienna-Hernals on Wednesday when a nine-year-old girl was harassed by an unknown man on the way from her elementary school to a learning center in Kalvarienberggasse. The perpetrator tried to grab the girl's arm and said he wanted to give her something. The student determinedly and loudly demanded that the man let go of her and was able to escape by running away. The police are continuing to investigate to clarify the incident and find the perpetrator, the police confirmed to the APA.
This is not the first incident of this kind in the capital. Back in February, the police reported several similar cases in which an unknown man approached several elementary school children at various locations in Vienna-Neubau and tried to get them to come along. These incidents occurred between February 8th and 13th on Mondscheingasse, Siebensterngasse and Burggasse, and the children were fortunately able to free themselves. In response to the current events, the police from the Ottakring City Police Command have increased their presence in the area. The officers have been sensitized and report that they will cover the area intensively during patrol duty. They also maintain contact with a day center nearby through the responsible district police officer to ensure the safety of the children the small newspaper reported.
The incidents in Vienna have caused concern among citizens and highlight the need for increased vigilance. Parents are encouraged to educate their children about safe behavior and how to recognize potential dangers, while police intensify investigations to ensure children's safety.
