Last weekend there was a violent incident in the popular Sölden ski area that heated up emotions. A 56-year-old German skier collided with a 49-year-old Israeli skier while exiting the Seiterkarbahn, causing the latter to sustain an unspecified degree of injury. A report by oe24 subsequently described that the Germans wanted to help the injured skier, but the situation escalated when a companion of the Israeli, apparently in a fit of anger, hit the two Germans with a ski pole. This unexpected aggressive behavior resulted in injuries to the facial area of the two Germans.
Witnesses wanted!
As the police explained in addition to all-in.de's reporting, they are now looking for witnesses to this incident. The skiing accident occurred in the year-round ski area at Tiefenbach Glacier in Tyrol, a location known for its excellent slopes. Due to the high altitude and reliable snowfall, both beginners and experienced skiers are welcome here. Officials have appealed to the public to report information about the incident by calling 0043 59133 7108 to shed light on the events. The incident has dampened the mood at the ski resort and some visitors were shocked at the aggressiveness that can occur in a normally cheerful environment such as a ski holiday.
