Calf transport in danger: Police stop truck due to serious defects!

During a routine check on the A2 southern motorway on Thursday, a Hungarian truck was noticed that was inadequately built to transport 265 calves and cows from Estonia to northern Italy. The van was inspected at the Ilz traffic checkpoint by specialists from the state transport department. Serious deficiencies in animal husbandry were uncovered, including the fact that many calves were not even 14 days old. These young animals were therefore far too vulnerable for the long journey and were already suffering considerably from the conditions that the police described as “unacceptable”. Serious technical defects discovered

In addition to the poor animal husbandry, the police also discovered serious technical problems with the transport vehicle. The driver was then prohibited from continuing his journey. The calves had to be accommodated in a care center, where their fate was to be decided. This is based on the information provided by Small newspaper out.
