Late on Saturday evening, January 12, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on the A6 between St. Ingbert-West and Güdingen, which was caused by an illegal car race between a neon-colored Toyota sports car and a black BMW 3 Series (SB license plate). According to eyewitnesses, speeds of up to 170 km/h were reached while the vehicles drove towards Saarbrücken.
A 20-year-old driver from Mauschbach reported that his white Citroën C1 (PS license plate) was struck by the BMW on the right in the construction site area of the Grumbachtal Bridge, which resulted in four-digit damage to his vehicle. After the incident, the two sports cars continued their journey, while marks on the bridge's guardrail indicate that one of the vehicles may have touched it.
Police are looking for witnesses
The St. Ingbert police have not yet been able to gain any further information about the incident and are urgently looking for witnesses who have information about the accident, the driving style of the sports car or other threats.
