A break-in at a residential building in Schweinfurt has been keeping the police busy in recent days. Last Wednesday evening, shortly before midnight, a 28-year-old burglar was caught in the attic of the affected house. The incident occurred in the city's market area, where the suspect was looking for valuables. The Schweinfurt police were alerted and arrived at the scene promptly. During a search of the house, the suspect was found hiding behind a cupboard and was temporarily arrested. The officers also discovered other suspected stolen goods, which could possibly have come from two cars parked on Dittelbrunner Sonnenstrasse. Another burglary in Schweinfurt occurred in the early morning of October 21st, when suspects broke into a residential building through a cellar door on Bayernstrasse around 5:30 a.m. The occupant of the house became aware of noises and encountered a 24-year-old burglar. There was an altercation in which the resident suffered a minor hand injury. The burglar was able to leave the property with his loot while the resident immediately called the police. They arrived shortly after the emergency call and arrested the 24-year-old on Oskar-von-Miller-Straße. A 22-year-old accomplice was checked on Conn Street and also had loot from the break-in with him. The two suspects were temporarily arrested. Three bicycles had also been stolen from a neighboring garage on Stephanstrasse. The police are carrying out the investigation in coordination with the Schweinfurt public prosecutor's office fuldaerzeitung.de reported.
