Chaos in Berlin: Waffle campaign ends with injuries and police intervention!
Dramatic scenes in the heart of Berlin when former Hertha BSC professional Nader Jindaoui attracted masses of fans to a waffle shop on Saturday with an appeal on his social media channels. Around 2,000 followers flocked to Grüntaler Straße, attracted by the prospect of receiving 300 portions of his specially created “Jindaoui Bowl” for free. But instead of enjoyment, there was chaos: the situation escalated and the police had to intervene to calm the masses oe24 reported.
During the incident, several people, including a ten-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and had to be taken to hospital. Four other children struggled with circulatory problems and shortness of breath. Despite barriers and the presence of security forces, the police were unable to stop the crowds in time, which led to the meeting being broken up. Jindaoui later apologized on social media, confirming that the day was a "state of emergency" and that he understood the police intervention as the safety of fans was paramount.
