On May 19, 2025, a threatening incident occurred in the Stadlau subway station in the Donaustadt district of Vienna in the evening. A 32-year-old Viennese man ran across the station's tracks, prompting passers-by to call the police. A Wiener Linien employee was initially able to convince the man to come back to the platform before the situation escalated.
After the 32-year-old had retreated, he reacted aggressively when the police arrived. Despite officers' attempts to speak to him, he refused to provide any information about the incident. Suddenly the man tried to escape, but was held by the police and attacked them with punches and kicks. As a result, he was arrested for resisting state authority. One officer sustained injuries during the arrest.
