Viennese balls go beyond all records: sales and number of visitors rise!

Wien, Österreich - The ball season 2023/24 in Vienna has pulverized all previous records! According to the Chamber of Commerce Vienna , there were over 570,000 guests who ensured breathtaking sales of more than 205 million euros. This impressive result exceeds the previous season by 10,000 visitors and 15 million euros. The Viennese balls are thus strengthening their excellent international reputation, which largely contributes to the high number of visitors. The chairman of the tourism and leisure industry division, Markus Grießler, noticed that the record was not only created by returning the celebrations after pandemeine -related cancellations, but also through the steady increase in tourist ball visitors.

The most popular balls were already sold out at the beginning of January, which underlines the increasing demand. The guests spent an average impressive 360 euros per ball evening, of which around 135 euros flowed into the tickets. Interestingly, visitors spent an average of 85 euros for food and drinks. The SMU-research Austria has shown that there were significant increases in front of the ball, which increased by 45 percent per person by 45 percent.

international boom and the future outlook

The trend towards internationality among the ball visitors is clearly recognizable: around 30,000 tourists came to the balls. The visitor boom has motivated the Vienna Chamber of Commerce for new goals: Grießler plans to further expand the offers for international guests and thus generate additional visitor currents. With this strategy you want to make the next ball season even more successful. Due to the high demand, preparations are already underway to optimize ticket sales for the coming season and to secure tickets for the extremely popular balls.
