Advent snack in Lichtblickhof: A retreat for sick children
The Lichtblickhof in Penzing, an important place for seriously ill children and their families, recently invited to the Advent snack to welcome the upcoming festive time. This happened before the official start of adventure. Numerous guests were present at the event, including district chief Michaela Schüchner, who paid tribute to the valuable work of the children's hospice.
The Lichtblickhof at Reizfenninggasse 1a not only offers support, but also a space of joy and breathing. "Here, grief is transformed into bright views, which are important in difficult times and in the daily work of the facility," said cabaret artist Gery Seidl, who has been an ambassador for Lichtblickhof since 2021. Every year around 350 affected children and adolescents find comfort and help with their families.
therapy with animals
One of the heart of the Lichtblickhof is an innovative, animal -supported therapy approach. With 19 specially trained therapy horses, dogs, cats, rabbits and sheep, the supervisors create valuable moments of happiness for the children. "The therapy horses are extremely sensitive and can perceive emotional changes, often before people notice them," said Roswitha Zink, the managing director of the Lichtblickhof.
donations are essential
Despite the valuable work, the Lichtblickhof is dependent on donations in order to continue to exist and to be able to offer its services. In 2022, stationary hospice accompaniment in their own apartments has also been offered. The association "E.Motion - Lichtblickhof" asks for support: "Help us give us bright spots, because every moment counts!".
