Since the introduction of the funding in 2010, numerous projects have already received financial support. Vice Mayor Christoph Return (NEOS) said that Vienna was recognized as an important rainbow city, and further to consolidate this role, an adaptation of funding policy is necessary. A total of 23,000 euros are available for applications for 2025, and interested parties can submit applications for financial resources by December 31 of this year.

The maximum funding amount per project is 5,000 euros. The city of Vienna and the Wast-Wiener Anti-Discrimination agency organize this funding together to give clubs and initiatives the opportunity to submit their concepts and event ideas for the rainbow month. The applications must be submitted online by January 31, 2025 at the latest. The projects should deal with topics such as visibility, emancipation and equality in their content, which expresses the commitment of the city for the LGBTIQ community.
