Vienna relies on international LGBTIQ projects: Funding pot 2025 unveiled

Vienna continues his support for Queere projects and plans to continue the so -called small project funding pot in 2025. According to a current announcement by the city of Vienna, the focus in the upcoming funding period will be increasingly placed on LGBTIQ projects that include national and international perspectives. This means that initiatives are particularly promoted with the challenges and topics of the LGBTIQ community in a global context.

Since the introduction of the funding in 2010, numerous projects have already received financial support. Vice Mayor Christoph Return (NEOS) said that Vienna was recognized as an important rainbow city, and further to consolidate this role, an adaptation of funding policy is necessary. A total of 23,000 euros are available for applications for 2025, and interested parties can submit applications for financial resources by December 31 of this year.

planned projects and requirements

The city has set clear criteria for the funding. Projects that work against homophobia and help discriminated groups within the LGBTIQ community are particularly eligible. The maximum funding amount per project is 5,000 euros. There is also the possibility that larger initiatives can receive additional financial support in the upcoming rainbow month in June 2025 that can be between 1,000 and 15,000 euros.

The city of Vienna and the Wast-Wiener Anti-Discrimination agency organize this funding together to give clubs and initiatives the opportunity to submit their concepts and event ideas for the rainbow month. The applications must be submitted online by January 31, 2025 at the latest. The projects should deal with topics such as visibility, emancipation and equality in their content, which expresses the commitment of the city for the LGBTIQ community.

The so -called "rainbow month of June" has developed over the years into a real event that includes numerous events and promotions related to LGBTIQ. This is due to the efforts of many committed clubs, activists and the consistent funding policy of the City of Vienna. It remains exciting to see which creative and innovative ideas are submitted for 2025 in order to further promote the visibility and rights of the queer community.
