WhatsApp update: New stickers, music and collages for your status!

Today, June 2, 2025, WhatsApp announced a major update to its_Status feature, which will gradually be available to all users over the coming months. OE24 reports that the new features will revolutionize the way users share their thoughts and experiences.

The most exciting innovations include the ability to use not only photos, but also picture collages, stickers, music and voice messages in statuses. Users can now use a layout tool to arrange up to six images in a status message. The images appear in a rectangular frame that allows for individual arrangement. Photos can also be turned into stickers and used creatively.

New functions and possibilities

In addition to these options, WhatsApp is introducing a music sticker that allows users to choose from an extensive collection of “millions of tracks” to find the right musical accompaniment. Loud Facebook News Users can also share a song as a status or add it to existing status messages as a music sticker.

The new sticker function allows users to turn their own photos into stickers, which they can then use in statuses. There is also the “Add Yours” sticker, which allows users to invite friends to take part in a status update and contribute their own pictures to it. This interactivity is seen by many as a big step in promoting social sharing through the platform.

Visibility and privacy

One of the central features of WhatsApp status is personal encryption. WhatsApp Blog highlights that status messages can only be seen by the user's contacts and automatically disappear after 24 hours. Users also have the option to update their privacy settings for each status individually and decide who can see the status.

With the introduction of these new features, the ability to post voice messages with a maximum length of 60 seconds directly to the status will also be added. Contacts can now respond directly to a status message using the “Add Yours” sticker. This opens up further communication channels and enables more intensive exchange.

The update promises to significantly improve the user experience and strengthen the connection between friends and family members, while placing a high value on personal expression.
