Young person trapped by construction crane: dramatic accident in Götzis
A construction crane tipped over in Götzis and trapped a 15-year-old worker. Thanks to the quick intervention of the first aiders, the young man was saved and was then taken to the Feldkirch State Hospital.
The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon when a 28-year-old worker was unloading a construction crane from a truck. For reasons that are still unclear, possibly due to the outriggers not being extended, the crane suddenly tipped over. At the time, the 15-year-old worker was in the immediate vicinity of a workbench when the crane fell towards him and trapped him under the workbench.
Thanks to the quick action of first aiders, the young man was able to be freed from his predicament. Rescue workers treated him at the scene before he was taken to Feldkirch State Hospital with unspecified injuries.
It remains to be hoped that the young worker will recover quickly from this tragic accident and become healthy again. May such an incident serve to strengthen workplace safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
