hobby Horsing - a sport that conquers the Vorarlberg heart

hobby horsing, riding on hobby horses, is no longer an exclusive child playing, but a serious sport that is currently finding more and more followers in the Bregenzerwald. Originally native to Finland, this unusual discipline has made its way to Vorarlberg and is becoming increasingly popular here.

On October 6th, the Vorarlberg state championships in Hobby Horsing take place in Langenegg, in which around ten girls from the Region will demonstrate their passion and skills. But hobby horsing is not only intended for the young horse lovers - adults are also actively involved in this sport. The disciplines are very similar to traditional equestrian sports, with dressage and overcoming obstacles.

The trend sport from Finland also inspired the chairman of the Bregenzerwald riding and driving club, Oliver Salzmann. Since not everyone has the opportunity to own a real horse, hobby horsing offers a creative alternative. The association plans to offer regular training and further professionalize the sport. Only one movement coach is missing to prepare the girls for competitions.

In the case of hobby horsing, the foreground is not the horsepower, but the pure human power. In addition to perseverance and condition, various skills are also required. The care of the hobby horses, the naming, but also the accuracy and elegance in the execution of the exercises are crucial for success in this unconventional sport.

With the Vorarlberg state championships, hobby Horsing is increasing in the spotlight and not only inspires the participants, but also the spectators with their diversity and creativity.
