Concert by the Gisingen Music Association: An evening full of sound and honor
On November 24th, 2024, an impressive concert by the Gisingen Music Association took place in the Montforthaus in Feldkirch. The event not only offered the audience musical highlights, but also special honors for deserving members of the club.
The Jungmusik opened the program with great enthusiasm with the melody from “Beauty and the Beast”, followed by an instrumental version of the classic “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. Another highlight was the dynamic performance of Coldplay's “Viva la Vida,” which captivated the audience.
Honors for long-time members
Under the direction ofMario WiedemannThe Gisingen Music Association then played the popular Fliegermarsch, followed by “Ross Roy”, a demanding piece by the Dutch composer Jacob de Haan. The concert reached its emotional climax with the song “You Raise Me Up”.Jürgen Biedermannshined on the tenor horn with an impressive solo that radiated deep trust and confidence.
A significant part of the evening were the honors for long-standing members. The new chairmanThomas Finkpresented the silver medal of honorMario WiedemannDedicated bandmaster for twenty years.Herbert Wehingerwas honored with the gold medal for his forty years of membership, whereby his time as chairman was also recognized.Gudrun Petz-Bechterled through the program and informed the audience about the background of the individual pieces.
After the break, the concert continued with lively pieces, including compositions by Charles Chaplin and Italian pop classics. The audience's enthusiastic applause led to several encores, which rounded off the evening in an atmospheric way.
Among the many guests were, among others, the state councilDaniel Allgäuer, the deputy mayor of Feldkirch,Andrea Kerbleleder, as well as the city councilor for culture,Natasha Soursos. Also the city councilor for youth and sport,Nathalie Koch, and the environmental city council,Clemens Rauch, were present, together with the district chairman of the brass band association,Manfred Scheriau.
