ÖVP on the upswing: Community elections show surprising results!
In the municipal elections in Vorarlberg, the ÖVP had to accept success and setbacks. In Bregenz, the ÖVP candidate did not make it into the runoff election, which party leader Wallner rated as an unpleasant surprise at a press conference. Nevertheless, the ÖVP was able to secure the absolute majority in its home communities such as Frastanz with impressive 66.42 percent. Mayor Simon Tschann also triumphed in Bludenz, who successfully defended his position, which Wallner praised as a sign of the largely error -free policy of the ÖVP. However, the evaluation of the election results remains necessary to optimize future strategies, as reported.
Five of the seven stab elections give the ÖVP politicians a new chance. In Dornbirn, Julian Fässler from the ÖVP and Markus Fäßler from the SPÖ compete in a decisive runoff election. In Feldkirch, too, the reigning mayor Manfred Rädler competes against Andrea Kerbleder from the FPÖ. In Lustenau, the voters between Patrick Wiedl (ÖVP) and Martin Fitz (FPÖ) will have to decide, while Stephan Schnetzer (ÖVP) in Lochau accepts the challenge of the Green Mayor Frank Matt. Götzis sees an exciting competition between ÖVP Mayor Manfred Böhmwalder and Christoph Längle. These hot duels are important for the political landscape in Vorarlberg, especially on September 27, when the citizens are called to the urns again, such as Vol.at
