In 2020, Vorderhornbach counted only 258 citizens. At that time, several houses stood empty, and the construction of new apartments stood in the way of large hurdles in the form of missing land. In order to counteract this stagnating situation, the municipality chose an active approach: New building land behind the municipal office was shown, which was offered for sale. The new construction area not only aimed at the local citizens, but also attracted interested parties from outside who wanted to appreciate the quiet, sunny location and use the attractive prices.

"Currently 270 people live in our community. I am confident that this number will continue to increase," says Mayor Gottfried Ginther . This positive development not only affects the demographic situation, but also ensures the future of institutions such as elementary school and kindergarten, the continued existence of which has long been uncertain. The educational institutions now offer space for eleven school children and 12 children in kindergarten from Vorderhornbach and Hinterhornbach, which strengthens the community.

An important aspect of this development is to reawak to life in the community. Mayor Ginther emphasizes that the new buildings are not the only measure. In order to revitalize the village community, vacant buildings are also renovated and inhabited. "Light is burning again in the houses, which is a huge difference to the past," he says, while pointing to the six objects that are either already inhabited or will soon be inhabited.

But the community does not only focus on new buildings. The infrastructure is also brought to the fore. The new living opportunities are only part of the investments that are necessary for a modern living environment. The excellent internet connection is particularly noteworthy. Vorderhornbach can play a pioneering role here, because the fiber optic lines have been laid across the board, and around 70 percent of households already benefit from this modern technology.

The local clubs play an important role in creating an attractive leisure offer. For this purpose, the municipal “Badino”, a natural bath pond, contributes to this. Those who have visited the village recently cannot overlook the positive turn. It shows that it is a real challenge to keep a small village alive, but the progress and success in Vorderhornbach prove that it is possible. "We are not a dying village!" Mayor Ginther summarizes the situation and his words reflect the newly won confidence in the community.
