Community and tradition: Hubertus celebration in Vils inspires visitors

Last Saturday the Hubertus celebration of the Tyrolean Jägerverband took place in Vils, an annual highlight in the hunting calendar, which is celebrated on the day of St. Hubertus. Numerous hunters and interested parties gathered in order to appreciate this traditional occasion and to emphasize the value of nature.

The celebration began with a festive move, in which a pasture -uphill Hubertushirsch was accompanied by a music band and a flag delegation. Elementary school children and wildmasters also added the move, which was extremely impressive of the torches that shone in the dark. The pageant moved from the fire brigade to the city square and gathered numerous participants from the population, which revealed the close community and the interest in hunting.

For the 92-year-old, hunting is not just a profession, but a passion associated with discipline and dedication. Müller is estimated as a reliable employer and has trained numerous professional hunter apprentices in his areas, which makes him a valuable contribution to hunting culture.

Another highlight of the celebration was the blessing of the Hubertushuda by parish provisor Joemon Varghese. Together with Deacon Josef Roth and some altar servers, he celebrated the service, which was enriched by impressive pieces of the hunting horn play group. This background music gave the ceremony a special mood and created a solemn atmosphere.

After the official celebrations, the guests were invited to a sociable part in the city hall, where an atmospheric meal was served. Here, those present were able to exchange ideas in a convivial atmosphere and continue the conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.
