On September 12th, Rapid Lienz experienced an impressive performance that could turn out to be a decisive game for their position in the table. In the exciting duel against Lurnfeld, the Lienz team showed from the start that they were determined to leave the pitch as winners. Aggressive play and clever offensive play quickly brought them into control of the game. In the third minute, player-coach Dominik Müller caused the first excitement with a shot that landed just wide of the post.

The first goal only came in the 12th minute: Hasan Duranovic made it 1-0 for the hosts with a wonderful chip from 20 meters. The joy didn't take long to come, as Dominik Müller was able to make it 2-0 just two minutes later with a precise free kick. These two goals gave the Lienz players additional self-confidence, which was reflected in further goals. Gal Zinic made it 3-0 with a flying header in the 24th minute, and shortly before half-time Müller increased the score again to 4-0 - this time with a free kick into the top corner.

Strong defense and fast game

Although Lurnfeld tried to gain more control in the second half and get in front of the Lienz goal, Rapid's defense remained insurmountable. They finished off with another counterattack: Sandro Unterreiner, who came on as a substitute, completed a brilliantly clean attack to make the final score 5-0. This victory was recommended for the coming phase of the season, in which Rapid Lienz is hoping for the next points in order to secure a good starting position for the spring.

There were also interesting results in other league games. Union Matrei won an exciting derby against URC Thal/Assling 2-1. In front of around 1,200 spectators, Matrei took the lead through Luca Ronacher, but quickly had to accept the equalizer. Captain Jonathan Panzl secured a deserved victory for the home team with his goal in the 80th minute.

The match day was highlighted by the new league leaders, FC WR Nußdorf/Debant, who shone with an impressive 6:3 win against FC Hermagor. The guests showed an outstanding performance and thus sent a strong signal for the upcoming top game against Union Matrei.

In contrast, FC Dölsach suffered an unfortunate 0-2 defeat against Askö Gmünd. Despite a courageous performance and multiple saves from goalkeeper Julian Fürhapter, the Dölsachers were unable to take a point. However, Herbert Fürhapter, the sporting director, was optimistic for the coming games.
