Burglary in Lienz: perpetrators steal valuable copper and quad engine
In the night from Saturday to Sunday, a remarkable incident occurred on the company premises of a electricity provider on Schillerstrasse in Lienz. Unknown perpetrators stolen valuable items between 10 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The property was protected by an electronically secured sliding gate, but this did not prevent the thieves from getting to the site.
In the theft action, the perpetrators felled the engine of a quad that was parked there. They also stole three roles from the garages and storage rooms with around 1000 meters of copper cables and 20 copper rails. To transport the prey, the thieves use tools they found on site and even took advantage of a company's own forklift to solve the heavy copper from the roles. In view of the weight of the prey, the police assume that the perpetrators had to use a larger vehicle, probably a panel van.
high damage potential
The East Tyrolean police states that the total damage is in a high five -digit range. This affects both the value of the stolen materials and the damage caused by the destruction on the site. The police are now asking the population for help. Anyone who noticed something suspicious during the period in question or can contribute to the incident is asked to report directly to the Lienz police inspection on 059133 7230.
The quick and thorough investigation of this crime is not only important for the electricity provider, but also for security in the entire Lienz region. The police intensify their investigations to find the perpetrators and prevent future thefts.
