Tradition and community: dance evening and honors in Imsterberg

On October 12, 2023, a lively evening training session by the Oberland and Ausserfern traditional costume association took place in the Imsterberg community hall. Numerous dance enthusiasts gathered here to take part in the “Tanzlwerkstatt”. The two organizers Fabienne Pedross and Simon Witsch led the event, where both traditional and new dances were tried out. Daniel Prantl supported the dancers musically with his Styrian, thus creating a happy atmosphere.

The festivities continued the following day. Imsterberg was once again the venue, this time for the 60th general meeting of the traditional costume association. Representatives of various folk dance groups and traditional costume clubs from the Imst, Landeck, Reutte and Innsbruck-Land districts marched together from the community to the church. The parade was preceded by the music band, followed by a delegation from the rifle company. Dean Franz Angermayer celebrated a holy mass in the church and in his sermon emphasized the importance of customs for the community.

Honors and retrospectives

After the service, the participants marched into the community hall, where the Oberperferer Plattler opened the meeting with a traditional Tyrolean figure dance. Chairman Markus Sailer welcomed the guests of honor, including Mayor Richard Bartl and National Council member Margreth Falkner, and introduced the meeting. The various committee members reported on the developments of the past year, with youth work being particularly highlighted. The young people showed great interest in various activities and traditional crafts for making traditional costumes.

Honors were also given to deserving members during the meeting. In addition to Maria Ewerz from the Imster Sutler Association and Andreas Haider from TV Gries im Sellrain, four other dance enthusiasts received the silver medal of honor. Particularly outstanding was the awarding of the gold medal to Christoph Vogele from TV Venet-Buam Imsterberg. To celebrate the day, the TV Venet-Buam youth group presented dances, which also reflected the joy of the awards in the audience.

Social gesture and outlook

Another highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a check for 1,798 euros to the Imsterberg social association, presented by the children of the association together with the youth workers. This amount was collected during the church festival and ceremoniously handed over to the mayor. Finally, Johannes Scherl from TV Silberbuam Haiming announced the Kathreintanz in Haiming for November 16, 2024, to which everyone present is cordially invited.
