Exciting home games: Weizer U18 and U14 celebrate impressive victories

The football fans in Weiz experienced an exciting weekend at the beginning of November when the U14 and U18 of SPG FNZ Weiz played their last home games of the year in the Weizer Stadium. The U18s in particular delivered an exciting offensive spectacle that ended in a victory.

In the duel against the team from Hausmannstätten things got heated right from the first few minutes. Shtendil Ahmeti opened the game with a precise shot on goal in the third minute, putting the Weizer fan base on the road to victory. Taha Ömer Calik increased it to 2-0 just nine minutes later - a clear advantage for the hosts that thrilled the spectators. But the guests didn't give up and reduced the lead to 2-1 with a penalty from Philipp-Luca Hofmaier in the 23rd minute.

U14 with comeback against Gralla/Leibnitz

While the U18s played their game with determination, the U14 footballers from FNZ Weiz also showed an impressive fighting spirit. They initially had to fight back against SG Gralla/Football College Leibnitz after the guests took the lead in the 11th minute with a goal from Nico Wippel. Wippel remained active and increased the lead to 0:2 in the 20th minute, which didn't make things easy for the Weizers.

But they couldn't be defeated. An unfortunate own goal from Jonas Fritz in the 29th minute brought them back into the game. Just a few minutes later, Nils Mario Sattler equalized with a remarkable goal in the 35th minute. The Weizers' fighting spirit was rewarded when Matthias Hirt scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute to make it 3-2 and thus secure the victory.

Back with the U18s, it looked like an exciting second half when Alexander Zimmermann shot the visitors into the lead in the 51st minute. The game then took an unexpected turn when Sebastian Lukas scored an own goal in the 65th minute and equalized. The Weizer players drew new courage from this situation and Ahmeti scored again in the 71st minute. Felix Scheidl finally crowned the exciting game in the 72nd minute and scored the last goal to make it 5:3 for the Weizers.

The home victories for the U14 and U18 not only strengthen the team spirit, but also show the fighting spirit and determination of both teams, who were able to come back successfully despite setbacks. With these performances, they are heading into the winter break with a lot of confidence, while the fan base is already eagerly awaiting the next games.
