Hymn to Creation: Experience Haydn's oratorio in Gleisdorf!
A special musical event awaits visitors in Gleisdorf on November 3, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. Thechorforum.gleisdorfperforms a concert in the town parish church with the first two parts of Joseph Haydn's impressive oratorio “The Creation”. Under the experienced direction of Franz Jochum, this piece is brought to life in collaboration with the Graz University of Art.
Haydn himself is known for his ability to impressively transform the majestic vision of creation into music. In “The Creation” there are three soloists who represent the archangels and musically tell the biblical story of the creation of the world through powerful choral passages. The orchestra accompanies this with sound representations of natural phenomena, including the rising of the sun and the movements of water, as well as the creation of animals. Each day of creation acquires its own identity through different musical arrangements, which reflects the diversity of divine creation.
Management and artistic direction
The first part of the concert is conducted by Stjepan Molnar, while Veronika Karner conducts the second part. This concert also marks the final concert of her master's training, which makes the performance particularly outstanding.
The poster for the concert, designed by Helmut Loder, shows his work “The Creation – A Miracle in Blue”. His words reflect his fascination with divine creation: "That's how wonderful it is, his creation. That's how wonder sounds, praise made into music, painted in images and sounds, invitation and longing for what protects us and always brings forth new life."

Tickets are available in the municipality of Gleisdorf and from members of thechorforum.gleisdorf. A reservation is possible by calling 0660 4456024. The prices for the tickets are as follows:
- Erwachsene: VVK €26,- / AK €30,-
- Studierende und Jugendliche: VVK €15,- / AK €20,-
- Kinder unter 15 Jahren: €3,-
Additionally, the concert will also be performed at the Mariahilferkirche in Graz on November 10, 2024, increasing the opportunity for many music enthusiasts to experience the consistently wonderful performance.
