Hymn to creation: Experience Haydn's oratorio in Gleisdorf!

in Gleisdorf, visitors can expect a special musical event on November 3, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The chorforum.gleisdorf performs a concert with the first two parts of Joseph Haydn's impressive oratorio "Die Creation" in the parish church. Under the experienced direction of Franz Jochum, this piece is brought to life in cooperation with the Graz University of Art.

Haydn itself is known for its ability to impressively transform the majestic idea of creation into music. In “Creation” there are three soloists: inside that represent the archangels and, through powerful choir passages, tell the biblical narrative of the creation of the world musically. The orchestra accompanies this with tonal representations of natural phenomena, including the rise of the sun and the movements of the water, as well as the creation of the animals. Every day of creation gains its own identity through different musical design, which reflects the diversity of divine creation.

The first part of the concert is under the direction of Stjepan Molnar, while Veronika Karner conducts the second part. This concert also marks the final concert of its master training, which makes the performance particularly outstanding.

The poster for the concert designed by Helmut Loder shows his work "The Creation - A Miracle in Blue". In his words, the fascination for the divine creation is reflected: "It is so wonderful, his creation. This also sounds astonishment, praise, painted in pictures and tones, invitation and longing for what makes us keep us".
