Heroic lifesaver: police officers receive golden medal for courage
On November 28, 2024, a solemn ceremony took place in Vienna, on the occasion of the honor of twelve courageous police officers who have emerged as a lifeguard through their extraordinary commitment. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner presented golden medals on the red gang and paid tribute to their selfless and often dangerous commitment. "Your actions show that you are not only on duty, but also outside of what is ready to risk your security for the well -being of others. This inspires many people and gives you hope," the Interior Minister explained in an emotional address.
An outstanding example of such courage comes from Styria. On December 2, 2023, inspector Julia Zötsch and Inspector Sebastian Krenn noticed a fire in a multi -party house in Weiz. Despite the dangerous situation, they managed to save an 84-year-old woman from the burning apartment. Their quick reaction, alarming the fire brigade and the subsequent evacuing of other residents impressively show what emergency services can do, even if they are affected.
rescue actions in challenging situations
Another remarkable event occurred in Tyrol. On January 5, 2024, three Czech alpinists went on a climbing tour on the Großglockner despite adverse weather conditions. When the weather conditions deteriorated, the mountain rescue company and the police mountain guide Mathias Unterdorfer were deployed. They mastered a demanding climb to 3,500 meters of altitude and saved the alpinists to safety after 15 hours of hard work. This shows the extraordinary skills and the unshakable use of mountain rescue.
Another example of courageous action took place on June 6, 2024 in Kufstein. Here a man threatened to jump in the floods. When the police officers arrived, the man actually jumped into the river. Group inspector Reinhard Hintner and inspector Nicole Peer sprinted afterwards, while Inspector Alexander Stock quickly got the fire brigade to support. After a very risky persecution, it was possible to save the man out of the water and to supply them medically.
also helped in Vienna under dramatic circumstances. On February 12, 2024, an inspector of an unconscious woman who drove in the new Danube helped. While she pushed the lifeless person during running training, she didn't hesitate, jumped into the cold water and brought the woman to the shore. Thanks to her immediate action, the woman could be reanimated and taken to the hospital.
In Vorarlberg, the emergency services also experienced a critical situation. On May 2, 2024, a 28-year-old man was accused of deliberately lying a fire in a residential building. When the police arrived, the building was already in full fire. The police officers took great personal risks to put the suspect and at the same time save two sleeping people inside the house. Their determination and speed prevented worse.
These remarkable deeds of the civil servants who have ran show not only their professionalism, but also the strong sense of community and the understanding of the well -being of others who are required in police work. It can be clearly seen that each of these rescue actions is characterized by unshakable courage and devotion, and these lifesavers are rightly celebrated for their outstanding achievements.
