On Monday morning, November 25th, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B 70 in Krems at around 6:15 a.m. According to information from HBI Thomas Pagger, commander of the Krems Volunteer Fire Department, there was a head-on collision between two cars shortly after the gas station. A woman was seriously injured in this collision.
The fire brigade quickly went to the scene of the accident and freed the injured person from the vehicle using a basket stretcher. The Red Cross provided initial care together with an emergency medical team that flew there in a rescue helicopter. The woman was then transported to the hospital.
Traffic disruptions during the operation
During the entire operation, which lasted until around 8 a.m., there were significant traffic delays on the B 70. Drivers had to expect traffic jams as many vehicles were held up in the area around the scene of the accident. In addition to the approximately 26 members of the FF Krems, the police and Red Cross emergency services were also on site to monitor the situation and take further measures.
