Cultural highlights in autumn: Bärnbach invites you to colorful events

Bärnbach, the charming town in western Styria, is actively heading into autumn with a range of exciting events that offer something for every taste. The city has established itself as a stronghold for culture and entertainment, and so the cultural team, led by city councilor Andreas Albrecher, is impressively heading towards a varied program of events.

On October 12th, the well-known big band Köflach invites you to a musical evening in the Volkshaus. From 8 p.m. onwards, the audience will be treated to the lively sounds of swing, Latin and popular popular music. Under the direction of Günter Riedenbauer, managing director of Therme NOVA, classics by greats such as Frank Sinatra and Udo Jürgens are performed.

Variety of performances

A week later, on October 19th, visitors can expect the Austropop tribute show “I am from Austria” by Hauns Amore at 7:30 p.m. This is a must for fans of Austrian music style. Then on October 20th, we'll go out into nature: Mayor Jochen Bocksruker invites you to a hiking day around Bärnbach at 9 a.m. The participants meet in the city park, registration is not required, and after hiking a cozy snack is served in the construction yard.

A highlight of the cabaret scene will be presented on October 24th in the Volkshaus. The cabaret duo Kernölamazons, consisting of Caroline Athanasiadis and Gudrun Nikodem-Eichenhardt, brings their “Best of” program to the stage and promises a lively mix of historical humor and strange dialogues. Always in tune with the times, the program is complemented by the duo's best performances and always remains entertaining.

Immediately after this cabaret evening, on October 25th, there is another musical event in the Volkshaus: The Lipizzanerheimat chamber orchestra will play a repertoire from Mozart to popular Austropop sounds, starting at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a festive Oktoberfest at the bucket wheel excavator on the same day, where numerous guests as well as the Tyrolean Schmäh will be entertained with the rioters. It is moderated by Daniel “Düsenflitz” Müller, who is known for his relaxed and humorous manner.

Christmas anticipation and more

November brings more exciting events. The Alpine singers and musicians meeting will take place in the Volkshaus on November 9th. The Nature Friends Ski Bazaar opens its doors from November 15th to 17th. And on November 24th, “The Golden Voices of Gospel” will arrive at the Volkshaus for a special concert where the best voices from the southern states will get you in the mood for the upcoming Christmas holidays.

Another cultural highlight will be the traditional Krampus Run on December 6th, which will take place next to the culture café. The spectators can look forward to seeing how the custom is celebrated in combination with a festive atmosphere. A look at the coming year is already exciting: On April 25, 2025, cabaret artist Omar Sarsam will visit the Volkshaus with his program “I think there's something wrong” and go on a musical search for faults.

Overall, the event program in Bärnbach is diverse and invites you to actively participate in cultural highlights in this lively city. Information and details about the events are available on www.meinkreis.at to find.
